Sorry if this has already been asked, but do many of you guys use two printers, one for photos and one for regular stuff? Right now I only have a i9900 and am thinking about getting another printer for printing term papers and such for under $50.
Thanks.

I do have two printers and when I bought my i960 I had the same idea as you. After a while it didn't matter that I just used the new printer for everything. So the Epson sits and collects dust.

I have two printers but that's only because I bought the i9900 last and currently I'm only using the i9900 for photos.
Why don't you try printing your regular stuff on the i9900 and see how they come out. If they're acceptable, then you've just saved yourself from buying another printer when the i9900 will do the job.

Old laser printers are great! I got a Laserwriter 16/600 (HP 4 series) on ebay for $42 shipped. It has on-board ethernet, so I have cheap, crisp on any paper, and fast b&w printing from any computer in the house.
I'm sure you can find something networkable in your area - check classifieds or ebay.

Yep,. a 9100 for photos and a Laser (Xerox) for text etc....
I'd never use my precious i9100 for text! :)

If you print a lot of black and white documents, I would get a cheap laser printer. In the long run laser printers are more cost effective than inkjet printers.
I print a lot of documents and the cost of ink jet cartridges is killing me. The cost of laser printers has really dropped in the last five years. I plan to pick one up soon.

Thanks for all the responses! I just want to make sure that I wasn't crazy for wanting two printers... but then again maybe I am (dun dun dun)!

Hee hee, I got 5!
AN HP laserjet and an old HP color printer reside on the desktop and two large format printers travel with me to events along with a third 8.5".
All five get regular use.

Using an HP 960 for everyday stuff, and an HP 7960 for photos.
Both work great.

The 7960 was the one I returned!
Other HP products have performed well, much better than the Epsons I have.

HP 5850 used for normal text printing due to it's wireless capicity. Canon i960 is my photo printer though it might be replaced soon by the new PIXMA 8000.

I did see some PIXMA prints and thought they they looked very good, BUT nothing has been said about print stability.

My i9900 won't print envelopes without smearing so I have to use my HP1220C for that task. Anyone else having this problem?
