Hey all,
Has there been any reported problems with the effects of the security equipment on digital camera's and or the compact flash media?

If so, what do you all do to protect your equipment?

Thanks.

I've seen a similar topic here a while back. It was suggested to keep your camera and media in your
carry-on. That way it could be physically inspected.

There is an infinitesimal risk of a problem. Not to the camera but to the recording media. Recording media can be effected by stray magnetic fields and also intense radiation. Neither of these are present unless the xray machine is running berserk.

So another benefit of the digital camera is that there is NO risk of fogging of your photographs as there is when you use ordinary photographic emulsion film.

The biggest risk is theft! And the other thing to avoid at all costs is water (rain etc.) You must make sure your camera is insured to cover both these.
