I keep by photographs onto a CDR and I wish to ask which software is best to make sure the files I backed up are error-free. TIA.

I use the low tech method of creating thumbnail images files of the photos on the CDR for reference purposes (I use the thumbnail images to later locate the photo and CDR it is on. If the thumbnail program (in my case ThumbsPlus) can read all the files with no errors then I figure the originals (which it had to read to create the thumbnails) are all okay.
I also always make 2 CDs of the same photo set (one CD gets stored offsite) so if anything happened to one CD, I have a backup.
Another quick way would be to simply browse the photos on the CD using a quick viewer like VuePrint.
