View Full Version : Loose screw

Something started to rattle inside my G1, and as I removed the front cover (I was travelling so couldn't wait until I return home) I found a small screw (similar to those on the top of the camera except it's unpainted) loose, but didn't find where it is from. Everything seems to be working fine, so I still have an extra screw in a matchbox on my desk...
Anyone experienced anything similar?

Prosurfer,
I experienced something similar with $80 walkmans, they lost screws after some months due to their metallic case... Nevertheless, they kept on working perfectly, they only lost some rigidity... Now, I'm amazed that the same thing happens to a $800 camera ; doesn't Canon use thread lock compound ???

You cannot see too much except lots of black plastic covering all the electronics...looks like the interiors are quite safe in there - but still somewhere beyond the plastic is one screw missing...
I didn't remove the back cover, I suppose there is lots of black plastic on that side as well, anyway it seemed to be far more difficult task than removing the front cover. No problem re-attaching the front either.
