First You should reduce the size to max 800 pixels

Second I think the angle is not working quite well. It would probably have been better if You had been in front of the kid. I think BW works well for this.

I'm not sure what you mean....the image is 500X700  The second I posted it, I realized that I linked to the wrong version and deleted the post...How in the world did you see the big version that fast?!?!

Thanks for the comments. I like the angle though. That & the shadow contrasting with the slightly blown out opposite corner are what I think make this photo stand out. Ofcourse, I'm a little biased :)

...other comments on it?

I am just fast

So thats what happened, I tried to post the comment and got a weird error message that I could only reply to posts??? Then it disappeared from the list and reppeared. After a CTRL-F5 I see the new smaller size :D

Dsze, I LOVE this image!
Isn't wide angle fun?!
I really like the detail in the back fender.
Great job! Post more wide angle shots when you get them.

Btw You do know that You can just edit the post if something like this happen again, You don't have to delete it to correct it.

Yeah, I know I could've just edited the post...but, I was going to have to FTP the smaller image (and find it first) and I didn't want to have to respond to a bunch of people flaming me for posting a large image...so I just X'ed it and started over.....but wouldn't ya know, somebody was just too fast for me

Thanks for the comments drisley. I like the detail too.... great reflections in that fender and then a cool shadow too! I'm all about reflections & shadows when I can get 'em... just something that attracts me to an image with reflections and/or shadows. .... the reason I resisted flash photography for soooo long. I felt that it killed shadows... I've learned to appreciate it though :) Isn't that cool kids bike? Totally a retro outfit with the chrome fenders and chopper handle bars! ....lucky kid. :)

I'll see if I can get one or two more processed while they kiddies are napping here! ....gotta hurry!

Yup, yup! I really like this second one alot!
The dof, and the black and white look awesome!
And...OMG! Those shoes must have been INSIDE the lens hood to get that close! (another reason I like that lens. very close focusing distance).

Thanks! Yeah, getting those swinging shots was fun.... I have no idea how close she really was, but I don't think it was quite as close as it appears... She loved it though because she thought she was going to kick daddy and his camera across the front yard! :)

Thanks for the comments.

Thank you all. This was really my first time shooting with an ultra-wide angle lens and first time with this lens in particular...other than the 5 shots I took of my hotel room Thursday night! :) So, I was pleased I guess. I can sure see how wide angle might get very addictive for me....makes me wish that I had not held off so long on getting a WA lens. I had always associated it with landscape photography and product photography, like real-estate stuff, etc.... that I was never really interested in. But, these photos really fit in very well with my style of candid portraits and such.
