Recently my Powershot A20 refused to shutdown either through the start stop button or via auto-shutdown - all other functions appeared OK. Tried cleaning the switch contacts with a rubber and removing batteries and CF card in case the firmware had got itself into a knot, but all to no avail. The problem righted itself soon after but it left me wondering whether there may be a hidden service menu eg. to effect a factory settings / firmware reset. Also wondering if it possible to update the firmware via the USB connection (don't actually know whether the firmware in this camera is stored in flash memory).
