Some lacrosse photos from Tuesday. In the beginning, the field was half in the shadows, half in fairly harsh lighting so I had a difficult time with lighting. I cropped a little looser then I usually do. I really tried to eliminate distracting backgrounds, but had a difficult time completely eliminating them:o

I think images 1,2 and 3 make for good event and editorial photos as you have good action, faces with some emotion, nicely filled frames and the backgrounds are clean. Number 4 looks a tad harsh due to the lighting although the action is good. Numbers 5,6,and 7 are okay but not as good as the first three. Nicely done.

Thanks guys, any suggestions on ways to improve for the next shoot? I want to get more facial expressions and cleaner backgrounds still.

These photos have been selling like wildfire so I must be doing something right, but I was wondering if I could get some critique or advice to help me improve for my next LAX game? The 70-200 didn't give me enough reach I wanted, but the photos where so sharp I was able to crop a great deal of dead space and still get a eye pleasing photo.
I've also been contracted with my school to do their team and individual portraits, I don't know if this is the right place to ask for it but if anyone as any advice or tips that would be greatly appreciated:D
Thanks and sorry to up a 3-day dead thread.

I'm glad you pulled the thread back up since I missed it the first time. You've done an excellent hob here. Thanks.

Good luck with the contract work. My advice - do what you did here ;)
Some other advice - don't give back the 70-200 (you say it's borrowed).
Can you get your hands on a 300mm prime? That would give you some amazing shots too.
