It's a little slow and a little sparse and all the images are processed pretty heavily although nicely artistically but it does make it hard to see if you able to capture crisp clear documentary style images. The home image of hands is a bit of an odd choice, particularly as they seem tense. One of the problems with artsy websites is that often those who are most likely to want to hire are least likely to want to guess how things are organized ... if they are looking for images they are not looking for an art director or website designer. Getting lots of images out where they can easily be Googled might be a better goal. Having said all that, you know I really like your images and admire your artistry and clever eye but you welcomed comments on the website.

Already saw the site last week by chance.
Very nice, but I agree with Dwight on the choice of BG image.
Very, very nice work on there (duh).
Not loading slow here.
You might want to add something like a listing of publications?

Thanks all.
I'm profiling myself as a photo artist (first art gallery opening will be this year, and I'm currently looking for a band to do a photo book of), so that's what the site and choice of photos represent. I also want to differentiate myself from the competition.
I want the site to be as un-pushy as possible. I want the site to have the feeling that this guy does not need to advertise himself, because the photos in the gallery speak for themselves (I won't say this works or not, but that's what I'm aiming for. Let the photos speak for themselves). And I do not want to use my own photos as advertisements for my work (if that doesn't make much sense, I don't blame you ;)). Thus the not directly music photography related image on the front page. Thus the lack of name-dropping (I have a bunch of images of bigger artists in the archives).
The image on the front page is supposed to represent, in an abstract way, emotion, affinity, connection and contact. See the text in the "about" section of the site.
Huumakuva.net is the other site where the googlable images are ;).

Okay, I see that. Not the connection and contact bit though.
However, it's for instance not going to be mistaken for a BG image of a wedding photographer IMO, so so far, so good ;)
But somehow, and I can't say exactely why, it doesn't fit too well with the (mostly "heavy music") images in the portfolio...
Not sure if I'd know a better image suitable for a BG however...

No, it doesn't fit ... but this site is artistic rather than business so nothing has to have anything to do with anything else ... and the pictures are artworks which also fits. So, I'd say the website is a vanity website and a nice one at that.

Yeah... what I like the most about the bg image is that it isn't obvious, I hope it makes one curious, or something.
(btw, inspiration - the kind word for using somebody else's idea - for the image came from here: http://www.corbijn.co.uk/)
And here's the "source" image: http://kuvat.huumakuva.net/displayimage.php?pos=-4157

I think your images are fantastic. The problem is that I think they are too "niche" to get you any paid work. They seem to be more fine art than documentary (like previously said).
The site seems to load ok for me (a little slow but nothing too ridiculous). Try slicing the main image. Also, the galleries page is a little sloppy (no im ages load for me until i press 1).
