I dont think that the absolute edge on shots flatter the item. I would like to see an oblique, if for no other reason than to get an idea of the shape if this thing. It seems that it is meant to be hand held. From this view only, I dont know if I can hold it in my hand. Or put it in my pocket (does it go IN my pocket, or clip on, like a pen?).
The leaning shot doesn't do much, unless the selling point is that it will stay upright on nonlevel surfaces.
Background color does compliment the product though.

Thanks for the insight!! I apreciate your time, and insight!
How would one would one go about accomplishing the hand held feel? I was afraid that if i put it in a hand it might add a but of "cheese" element. Would you or anyone have sugestions on how to make this convey more of its inted use?
Thanks again.

Can you add something that is in the image, that doesn't distract from the product, BUT gives an idea of scale?

Maybe add something to put it in context? a cup of coffee? would give scale and be in keeping

I think that would be excellent. It would work especially well (IMHO) if you can keep it in the pic, slighly outside the field, thereby making it slighltly blurry ...

Well, in a sense I had already told you. The buttons give a sense of scale, and an obliqe shot (turned between 30 and 45 degrees to the camera) will tell me if this is shaped like a bar of soap or not.. As it stands, I wonder if I am looking at the largest surface here.

drop the power on the lights so the device's display appears brighter. looks dim in the shots, probably not what the mfr would like to portray to potential customers.
i like the reflection in the table surface and the colors.

my opinion..
the picture is slightly blurry and the lcd screen is too dark.
try facing it at a diff. angle or enhance the blue lcd screen with your photo editor.

I'd bet that to get the LCD spot on as well.. one would need a double exposure..

Pretty much what has been already said.
#1 is too static.
#2 is better, but show part of the side, too.
Re: "I'd bet that to get the LCD spot on as well.. one would need a double exposure.."
Or, just reduce the intensity of the main lights & increase the exposure time. Don't be afraid to get into seconds of exposure, & next time, include the EXIF info!
