Has anyone else noticed that the topics of different threads seems to follow a pattern. Especially in the Talk about Photography and Post Processing forums.

For the past few days it's been all about bokeh. Prior to that it was color issues. Now it seems to be about resolution and PPI.

You can almost see it happen. Someone will post a new thread about something and the entire forum seems to move like a wave into that topic.

I think I will create a thread about chimping to see where it may lead.

BTW this is not intended to start another "why don't they just search" threads. Just an observation.

I endorse your social experiment. Instead of just shifting the topics, you could also try guiding the forum memes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meme) to see if you can move an odd opinion to a loftier status.

Please refrain from making double entendres during the course of the social experiment. TYVM.

It just goes to show how this forum really effects us! When I read an interesting post, I'll think about it for a bit and come up with more questions of my own (usually dumb). That might explain why you get a lot of similar topics.

It's an unfortunate breach of what used to be standard forum etiquette,.
I think it is part of a "me too" phenomena,.

So many want to be at the start of a thread, they read one thread, form a question based on what they read, but would rather have the celebrity of posting there own new thread and input on the same topic, than to follow what used to be a self evident law of forums..

ie:
"It is always better to post in an existing thread than to start a new one"

I give you;
