Trading my G2 for a Ixus ?

With a 20D soon to be in my hot little hands, I'm thinking of selling my faithful G2 and going for a more compact Ixus.

Given that it will be mostly for happy snaps kinds of stuff, is there anything that I might be disappointed in with an Ixus?

i say sell the g2, and get a s70 or a95... still compact, but you will get much better images.

I second that. At least with the above mentioned cameras, you'll have better image quality and control.

. . . and recommend the S500 (or any of the other digital Elphs). I've got an S70, and love it. I, however, carry the S500 every day, and the size is what makes it a reasonable EDC. Yes, I miss the controllability, but the images come out shockly nice for a point 'n' shoot.
