I would love your thoughts on this pic i took at the local zoo. Personally i love it....what do you think?

I agree with you. This shot is great. I like the subtle tones and black background. You'll have to get this one framed for your living room.

I am by no means a professional... but my only comment is that maybe a bit more of the top / left sides would have helped.... other than that very nice.

I like it... a very nice contrast.
By that I mean the 'age and agelessness' feel of the image.
The black and white gives it quite a timeless perspective, while the wrinkles of the elephant directly contrast this.

If I'm not making sense I blame the time of day...

Hi,

I'm a big Elephant fan, I guess many people are...
Even for indian elephants, the keys to Ele photography are :
To get to see their eyes.
Never crop off their trunks.
Try to get them drinking rather than eating.
Avoid the five legs and boobies.
Baby elephants. anything except them pooping!

Go back and keep trying at that H&H shot to get the open eye in the frame.
