I just got out of a camera store where they tried to tell me (I didn't believe them) that the g6 has a built in wireless controller. They also said that it doesn't work with the 420.

Sounds like a sketchy salesperson to me. Can anyone back up my suspicians?

Thanks

http://web.canon.jp/Imaging/psg6/101-e.html#07 . They mention the ring lite blocking one of the receptors, so it doesn't sound, up front, like the 420EX wouldn't work. Maybe they were referring to something like burst mode with an external flash.

Sorry, by wireless I meant an st-e2 built right into the g6. Something that can control the flases remotely.

I would bet so too... you know everytime I walk into that store (it is a Black's) I here them explaining that MegaPixels is the number of Dot's Per Inch and I just cringe.

While I was there I checked out the rebel grip as well. They wanted $200CDN for it, but it only costs $100USD at BNH!

I think the "wireless controller" your salesman must have been referring to is the device that you use to adjust the camera and activate the timer to take pictures, not the device that sets off the remote flash units. It is called "wireless controller" in the manual, but it's not the st-e2.

Well I know what it is! It is she that seems to be confused! I thought it was much to good to be true anyways.

She specifically said that the ettl wireless built into the g6 didn't work with the 420ex flash. Almost as correct as the DPI line they sell with.
