This weekend I shot a sporting event that was indoors with florescent light. Most of the photos came out what I would call "pretty good" but no striking colors and contrast with that "wet look." Also many of the shots were slightly burry and out of focus. As I shot at different distances from the subjects in the event, sometimes the camera/lens would struggle to focus, and often it would "grab" focus on the wrong subject, say someone just to the left of the person I was trying to capture, and the main subject would be slightly blurred.
I went between aperture and shutter mode and experimented a lot. I couldn't use a flash due to the event.
When I got some blurr, I increased the shutter speed, which of course made the shots darker, so I had to turn up the ISO to like 800. I wonder if that made the quality suffer a bit.
This was with a Sigma 70-200 f/4-5.6 I paid like $120 new for. Is that the problem, or did I just never get the right settings ? Thanks
