I was feeling good about getting the S200 untill I read a review of the 2500 (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,530181,00.asp) at PC Mag, and looking at price, the 2500 is cheaper as well by almost $50.

What do you think about the two and which do you reccomend me getting?

-Thanks

As much as I like PC Magazine, they aren't photography experts. Check out these sites to make your call:

www.dcviews.com
www.dpreview.com
www.dcresource.com
www.imaging-resource.com
www.steves-digicams.com

At least one site has a comparison tool for checking specs. You'll want to decide what features suite you more on each camera, and which is the best overall package for you.

I've made up my mind to get the S200... Better movie mode (I will be using that a fair bit) it has a viewfinder, looks better (:p) and is just plain better I now figure.

Thanks for the info though, further reference for sure.

Actually, you should hold off, because Canon just announced the new additions:

i used to work at compusa in downtown san francisco, in the digital photography dept. if i remember right, the nikon 2500 has the swivel lens. am i right? the fewer moving parts, the better. also the construction on the s200 is much better. i handled both cameras several times a day and if i had to choose, i'd pick the s200.
