Here is an e-session that I did yesterday... how'd I do? To explain why I don't have any close-ups yet: Ryan is getting his braces off on Tuesday... So yesterday we got some full body shots and Tuesday we will be getting some close-ups of the couple...

Nice pics, first looks a little "Posed" and "stiff" - but I like the chemistry in the last one!

PS: I hope the trains don't run too often! ;-)

I think overall a good try!I know this is pretty out of your control and you live in Idaho and it's cold there, but I really hate the guy's jacket, it looks so sloppy. Wish he would have warn a thick sweater instead. Shame on him. Guys often don't think about these kind of things.

1-They do look really really stiff here. Expressions look bored and uncomfortable. I think the composition is fine and overall the color and exposure look pretty good.

2-This is a really cute shot. I'd love it in B&W. Good job with the balloons, I assume they were digitally edited, and from this size it looks pretty realistic, althou I think 'we're getting' could be a hair higher up on the balloon'.

3-Good idea here, I like it overall. It's a bit underexposed and your conversion is flat. Also, watch your finger cropping there. I know you wanted it close up to her face, but perhaps have her move her fingers or move back just a step.

4-They still look pretty stiff or bored here.. When you go for a shot like this you need some exaggerated body movements. Also, it's a little too centered for my tastes. If you'd like, I can post some examples of similar shots I've taken. They need bigger, playful movements, and they should look at each other or at least he should look at her.

5-This looks good overall.. a little stiff again, but not bad.

I am not sure what instructions you gave them but try a 'okay I am going to go over here and you guys do whatever you want' kind of approach. I tell people to just be loving, talk to each other, goof around, kiss, tell jokes, whatever they want, and ignore me.. I get the best stuff that way.

Yeah... they look a little stiff... this is an 'unposed' pose. They were just talking and I took a snap... I wasn't sure about it... but I think I will follow along with the majority opinion and not really like it....

Thank you ! I actually did this one in black and white... I will post it at the end of this post... I am a sucker for B&W. So that was the first pp I did.Also... those balloons are real. I had them done and then gave them to the couple to hold. I really like how it turned out:)

I did give those kind of instructions. I told them I had 2 rules..1) just have fun.. pretend that I am not there 2) always be touching! They guy was a real pain to deal with... He maybe looked at me 20% of the time. Even after awhile I tried to count so I could prepare him to look at me. Still didn't work all the time. Anyways...I would love to see what kind you have... I am mostly into family and children portraits and so stepping into this is a whole new world to me.

I actually used real balloons. I had hand written what you see on them... but since it was really breezy outside it just didn't work... so... I took a picture of them upclose.... and then I pp'd them in by using command T.. and then using the luminosity in the layers panel to size it just right. then I turned the luminosity back to normal...Next I masked them in.

Since couldn't get a clear shot of the wording.. I just picke a font that is pretty close to real handwriting and lightened the opacity to about 75%.

I hope that's understandable!!!

In the shot with the balloons you should warp the letters just abit so they wrap with the curve of the balloon. I also see you blurred the cars, I noticed this because other things in the background that should have been out of focus weren't. Great job. I have my first two e-sessions on the 26th.

On the train tracks, I'd play around with the posing and composition in order to take advantage of perspective and depth.

good start, however I think more depth of field and more saturation of colors would look nice.
