I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with him. After I warmed up to the record, I'd say it's hands-down some of the most refreshing sounds I've heard in the last few years. His voice and the song arrangements are unbelieveable -- not to mention the story behind the making of the record.
Anyways...

2. 1/40 of a second at 170mm. Eek.

I think the light just follows him around along with the sounds of harps and a chorus...which doesn't really add up, since Joel is in league with the dark side now. :~(
On another note...my wife went to 3 places Sunday to try to find this guy's cd, and nobody had it. You'd think with all the hype he's been getting someone would keep his disc in stock.
On another note...nice images.

The light has stopped following me....I returned the D3 back to it's rightful owner a couple days ago. Back to the 5D when it returns early next week...
Did she end up finding it? The Nickel has had them in stock quite regularly...

Great shots, how did you do your b+w conversions? Is that grain natural or added in PS?

Awww about the D3...hope your 5D comes back like new. I have my 35L off to NJ at the moment...was painful to pack it up. And yeah, Wooden Nickel had the CD...apparently they filed it under B and couldn't find it the first time she went in. I'm listening to it now.

I like #7 a lot. Love how it's framed.

B&W conversions done in Lightroom, with little to no channel tweaking...
And that's 'natural' grain. That's probably the nicest thing about the D3, even at stupidly-high ISO, there's such a grain is quite film-like, and I've yet to see any banding, even when I push the images a stop or two...

I'm really liking the look of the grain!
