I want to get started on printing my own business cards for wedding photography, Portraits and Special Occasions. What I need is some info on how-to-create my own cards. Has anyone out there done their own and if so, what program would you reccomend. I would appreciate all info on this subject.

I use Illustrator, but I know a lot of people use Photoshop.

I used Photoshop but I did not print them at home. I uploaded the PSD's to VistPrint and they did all the rest of the work.

I've used Photoshop and had them printed at OvernightPrints. They came out really nice.

I'm not familiar with the procedure for developing a card with photo shop so any directions, even the simplest, would help. I just need what to open up in photo shop to start out. Like...is there a certain option on the tool bar to get me started for business cards?? Thanks all for your help:

Illustrator is the best option but photoshop is IMO easier to use. Just make sure your set up at 300ppi and all that before starting.

Thanks for the offer but I tried it out today and got something acceptable for the meantime. I'll keep you on file for future use once I start making some extra cash. Thanks again:

you know - i tried to save my file as a TIFF (as specified by the printing co.), but when i viewed the tiff file, the colors were soooo off compared to the PSD file. would you have any ideas why this is occurring??

(i asked the co. about this, and they said that the tiff shouldn't be that much different from the psd.... idk :( )

TIY! :)

I dunno, they won't take a level 12 quality jpeg (is the color off on this or not)?

Actually, I guess when I got mine done they didn't want jpeg either. I sent them the .eps file which is one of illustrator's file extensions.
