So I went out to see my little brother perform with his band. they did a great job, the singer was good and my bro and his friend did great on guitar. here are some shots that I took. first time out really doing this, especially with the equipment I used, 1Dmk2 iso3200 70-200 2.8is...

and this was from while they were trying to set up...if only that person wasn't there in the bg. I like how the light hit the drum set here...I mean there is no person there behind the set :-P don't look!

I don't mean to sound rude, but for the most part, they look like it. It's not that I think these are bad shots or anything and the framing/crops look good, but on my monitor they are all a bit dark and look a little under exposed. Also that second shot with the girl singing needs to be a lot sharper....it's a lovely shot, good framing, nice expression, but way too soft. The third shot looks like it's tilted counter-clockwise a little.

Personally, I'd go back and finish these...re-process them thru RAW (watch those histograms as you're adjusting the exposure!), then add some saturation and some USM...I think with some work, you could really make these shots pop!

Peace,
Jim

Actually, looks like the focus point was her hand or maybe the microphone, not her face. Might not be anything you can do about that now, except remember not to do that next time ;).

Otherwise they're good shots, but definitely need some more work to make them great shots.
