I recently got a Canon SD200 camera and have some questions about SD cards.

First, Am I reading the manual right that I need to have a 512mb card to utilize the quick shot feature? I can't seem to enable the feature with my 128 card. The manual just says that "the Canon Accessory 512mb SD card is used and the mode is changed to display quick shot."

Second, It seems I can't take movies of any length with my 128 card. Some background, I also have an SD110 that I have been using with the 128mb card and have been able to take really long movies with- that's why I am confused. I kind of know the answer to this question, since the SD200 has a 60fps mode and must require a faster card?

Last, I am going to buy a high capacity SD card. Does it really make a difference to buy one labled as high speed? I have been looking at the SanDisk Ultra II, will this be an improvement over a regular SanDisk card or is it all a marketing ploy? Are there any other, better cards I should consider or someone can reccommend?

First, I didn't think the SD200 had a quick shot mode. What page of the manual do you see this feature explained?

Second, here are the movies options:
- Standard: 640 x 480/320 x 240 pixels
- Fast Frame Rate: 320 x 240 pixels
- Compact: 160 x 120 pixels
The maximum length of a movie clip:
- Standard: Until the SD card becomes full.
- Fast Frame Rate: Maximum of 1 min.
- Compact: Maximum of 3 min.

And finally, SanDisk Ultra and Ultra II are high-speed cards. They work very well.

I hope this helps.

I'm sorry. It's called continuous shooting on page 73.

For both continuous shooting and movies, I'd recommend using a high-speed SD card. I use the SanDisk Ultra II, which works very well.

I have SD200. And I use a standard 1gb Sandisk SD card--as in low, low speed. I really haven't done continuous mode, so I can't offer my opinion with that regard. However, the movie mode works fine even with a slow speed ones :)

Have you tried it in 30 and 60 fps and 620x480? Becuase my regular 128mb Sandisk card seems to only allow about 20 seconds of movie mode when I have it set up this way.

No matter, I bought a 512mb Sandisk Ultra II for $60 at newegg.com. It works perfect with that.
