I have slight movement on my drebel with the 100-400L, but not with other lenses, any ideas?
thanks

My newbie eyes see three options:
- Have a dealer look at it.
- Stop using the lens.
- Don't worry about it.

Helpful eh?

Now let's see what the "professionals" have to say!

I had slight movement on my 300D with all my lenses.
Come to think of it, there is slight movement on my 20D too.
That is normal, although it depends on your definition of "slight"

:P :P :P Quote of the day, right there!

No, seriously, so do I. I think it is normal to move a little bit.

Yes to some slight degree -

Simple enough if you consider it.

Plus/minus tolerance of lens mounting parts

Plus/minus tolerance, of camera mounting parts

Both plus = tight fit

Both minus = looser fit

extreme ± temperatures = greater or lesser movement

my fault (too many years in automotive engineering)

The same thing happens with my 10D and the 100-400. It's got a slight (very slight) play. I'd say that's normal for a non-1D series camera, I guess.

I have some looseness on with all my lenses on my Drebel. 28-70 2.8 Tokina, 70-200 2.8L, 50 1.8, 1.4 TC and the kit lens. I figured that it was the camera and I really did not give it much thought.

There is no slop in the mount on my 20d and all the lenses are tight.

It hasn't affected any images from my 300d. I had it at the local camera shop and they said that it's just normal tolerances for canon.

I had that on my Drebel but not on my 20D.
