Cool! It;s about time someone did this.. us 10D owners used to have to shell out $40.00 for a plastic switch!

Boogerg.. I can't speak for this actual product.. but with the 10D etc.. the only thing that made it so that we could not make our own out of a few dollars of Radio Shack parts was the unique proprietary 3 pin plug...

With other cameras a mini pin found out Radio shack would work.. some wiring and a $1.50 momentary switch and your done.

But the 10D, 20D etc... had this infernal plug... so the Canon was the only choice.

The electronics are simple. I'd certainly say it's worth a try.

I got one. Works fine. At first it didn't, but I plugged and unplugged it a few times, then it was okay. Some coating to be worn off, I suppose.

I got one and it works fine.

I ordered one for a friend of mine and the guy waited over 15 days before he even shipped it, still waiting for that one.

So I guess if you want a cheap remote and don't mind waiting awhile it's worth it.

I just received one from a different seller that was located in the US. It didn't work in the first position, autofocus, bud would take a picture when pressed all the way. I emailed the seller and he had a replacement in the mail the next day. The problem was a poor crimp job on an internal connector pin in the switch housing. I soldered it and life is good. The cord is about three feet long which is not quite usefull enough. What I plan to do is cut the cord in half and crimp modular phone plugs on each end and creat an extension cable to go in between. Should cost all of a dollar three two ninety eight!! The useful part of these cheap remotes is the plug. You could hook it up to all manner of home made wireless remote, relay outputs, etc.
