AAaahhahahaha, I love it! What a compliment! ;)

Thanks guys, but yeah, we are actually new at this believe it or not. We've been into photography for a couple years plus my wife and I both have an artistic background. She's an interior designer and I'm a 3d animator working in the film industry. So we think a lot of things come naturally to us such as composition, staging, angles, thinking outside of the box etc... So we're blessed to have a natural knack for it I guess, it makes it that much easier and more enjoyable to become even better! And we believe we'll always be learning.

Most first weddings are pretty boring and it usually takes a lot of experience to do something original and exciting. These are wonderful.

Did you mean to say that this is your 101st wedding?

We're thrilled to hear that! I'm curious what our photography will be like in a few years?! ;)

Simply amazing shots. This is one of those rare occassions (though not as rare on POTN) when you won't here "Don't quit your day jobs."

Only minor C&C is on #4 - I think it's the combination of pose and angle, but the brides head looks a little disproportionate.

#7 is incredible. Perfect light, location, connection and timing (luck?) with the birds.

3, 8 absolutely amazing. Truly artistic approach. Aesthetically these pictures shine. Wedding dress hanging in the window was approached from every possible angle so far, yet You managed to show something very creative and unique. Great PP except maybe for 4 which is way oversaturated in the red channel in my opinion but i understand what You were going for. If that was Your first wedding I feal great for You and horrible for myself and everyone else on this forum :)

Fabulous. I just love how the tree in the background of #8, is kind of heart-shaped.

Thanks for your crits! Yeah, the geese turned out great in that shot. They were just flying around the whole time, the field was FULL of them.

Glad you like the dress photo so much. I'm glad we were able to do things differently, interesting and out of the box for our first time! Lol, please don't feel horrible!!! ;) But that's one hell of a nice thing to say...

Thanks for all the love guys, we're overwhelmed with happiness! :D

Oh dear! Mentor??? We'd hardly consider ourselves mentors since we're still learning from all the pros, but thank you soo much! We're all smiles over here! :)

But I'll do what I can to help you out, just ask away.

We just got the sweetest comment from the couple. They absolutely loved the photos! Phew!! ;) Here's a quote from our blog:

Karolina & Josh: Oh My Goodness, Bartek and Magda!!! We just got back from our honeymoon last night and my brother showed me the photos and we are ecstatic!!!We cannot thank you enough for capturing our favorite memories in such a beautiful and natural way. We are completely blown away by the photos we’ve seen and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the whole cd. You were both sooooo much fun to work with and I really felt like you connected so well with us and our families and friends—everybody loved you guys. I’m so impressed with the photos and can hardly believe they’re us :D Big hugs and big kisses!!! We’ll stay in touch!!!

The last photo is absolutely superb. I'm shooting my Brother's wedding on Saturday and it's my first ever wedding, so I'm browsing through here trying to get a few ideas and you've certainly given me some. :)

Bartek and Magda,

Congratulations, impressive work, last photo is just awesome! How do you add the signature at the bottom of every image? Is there an action to do it? Hope you don't mind sharing!

Thanks! The border is custom designed. After it's made, we have a custom action that applies it to any photo :) It's all photoshop.

Stunning images!!! Care to share your post processing methods / textures / actions?

Bartek
10th of April 2008 (Thu), 10:50
Well I'm not going to go into crazy detail but essentially it's just adding curves, tweaking some levels (sometimes), sharpening, vignetting (sometimes) and some custom actions thrown in there such as the "vintage" gold ones you see there. On top of that there is heavy use of masks with all the layers if needed, dodging/burning of eyes, cloning out blemishes if there are any. Then again, some images don't need any of this! And lastly, sometimes we'll crop it to change composition...but it's very rare since we usually nail one we like right out of camera :)

Hope that helps!
Bartek
