I know that I posted samples of focus magic (www.focusmagic.com)a couple months back, but I just wanted to give another look at my results. It is now part of my standard workflow to FM my shots 1 or 2 pixels just to get that extra level of crispness. Additionally though, sometimes it really saves a shot.

This was at a lake at the ranch (www.eatonsranch.com) that Marcia and I stayed at. First is the overall shot.

This is a 100% crop of the center. Notice the blur. There is motion blur because I took it while riding on a horse.

Next is a 7 pixel "Motion Blur Fix" applied.

Then I applied a 2 pixel "Focus Fix" to it, and I am very please with the results.

I just got FM and I'm impressed. I thought a comparison test/example would be good for my own info, so here's mine. This is a 100% crop, unedited other than the mentioned stuff. (The moon took up a VERY small part of the original picture- I wasn't trying to take a moon shot).

Unsharpmask, 300%, .5 radius, 0 threshold:

FocusMagic version (drat, forgot the exact settings, but pretty much the "auto" settings):

Nuff said!

How often do I use it now? The question should be more like "Why should you ever need USM again?"

Here is the LINK (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=44102) to my previous samples. There I also compared Focus Magic to Phototshops Unsharpen Mask and Fred Miranda's Intellisharpen (v. 1, I admit).

To answer your question, I use it most all of the time at 1 or 2 pixels. As well as that, I find it a life-saver when I "Just Missed" the focus. BUT, there are limits. If the "fix" is more than 6 or 7 pixels, I find that the rest of the image becomes just too jagged.
