These are the shots that I thought required the least processing, there's more but a lot of shaky stuff given how violent the day turned out... :/

It was quite insane to say the least, the police were going for anyone, press photographers included..
I was lucky enough to be tagging along with a Getty Images photographer for a bit so got into Somerset House before it was locked up.. so I got a good clear shot of one of the flame handovers (which was nigh impossible the rest of the day!):

I know the girl is a Blue Peter presenter (UK kids TV) but not sure who the receiving guy is...

thanks for the pictures
from:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/04/07/oly.torchrelay/index.html
"The torch was being carried by a wheelchair athlete when it was halted and extinguished for a second time due to demonstrators shouting, according to AP.
The procession was interrupted for a third time when police spotted a crowd of demonstrators waiting for the torch on a bridge as they approached, the agency added.
Protesters close to the River Seine twice forced authorities to put the torch out and take to a bus so they could continue the relay.
But the Olympic flame itself, lit from the birthplace of the ancient games in Olympia, Greece and used to light the torch, continued to burn in a small lantern in the bus."

It looks like it's not going to be the PR coup China was hoping for..

Wow...all of these are great shots!
All show such emotion.
Even though, I feel for the Tibetians and agree with the demos, I don't agree with the extinguishing of the torch.
It's a sad day for the Olympics and sports in general to see such a tradition being halted like this.
I guess this is all beside the point though.
I wish I was there to capture some photos too.
Nice job guys!!!
