I've seen this guy seven years in a row at the Cedar Falls Raceway. Never gets old! Great shots, I tried to video him at night, went dark when he hit the jets.:)

My dad was there! I couldn't make it because of a track meet. Maybe next year I can get some shots!

I think they only run 6's, they don't have enough time to build up much considering it is in fact 1320 ft.

Bob Motz ran a 6.99 on the 1320 (1/4 mile) at MIR where I saw him.

When he hit the afterburner you could feel it in your chest :)

One thing to keep in mind is that since it is a jet the more room it has the faster it gets.

Bob only :) hit 234.60 MPh but this was in the 1/4 mile and he hit it in 6.99 seconds.
He had to shut it down cause he was running out of room.
If he has enough room I'm sure he can hit over 300 Mph.

He had an unfortunate accident (broken fuel line) in 2007 but he is recovering well.

Thanks Alexajlex, I had allot of fun taking them, I was so close for the night shots I thought at any momment I was going to start smelling hair and plastic melting!

I can imagine you felt the heat.

There was a shed right behind the truck and it melted when this guy was warming up the jet engines.!!!

We were in the stand and we could feel the heat.

I can clearly remember sitting there right before he took of and thinking "Man, this is crazy!!!"
