lighting effect

i just thought of this and im not sure if it would work.
if you have Continuous Lighting, could you get another stand and attach a non-transparent circular object on top of it to get a ring effect in a subject's eyes?
would it be effective?

You mean, in front of the primary light source? It'd depend on how well collimated the light source was, and the distance between the gobo and the light.

yeah i could just get a round flourecent light and put it on the end of one of my light stands
