CS3 problem....I am lost now!

I have run into a strange problem that I am not having any luck correcting or even finding the root of the problem....I've looked everywhere for solutions to this but to no avail....

I have lost the ability to open JPEG's in camera raw with Adobe Bridge CS3. I used to be able to right-click a file and select "open in camera raw" or just highlight a file and grab: file > open in camera raw....but that choice has disappeared. It's not greyed out or anything - just gone! :confused:

Anyone have any ideas?

Edit -> Camera Raw Preferences, bottom of the dialog........

Try the following:

Open Bridge and go to Edit > Camera RAW Preferences > Purge Cache

Then go to Edit > Preferences > Cache > Purge Cache, the restart Bridge.

I think I am going to reinstall Bridge and see if that takes care of it.

I did find that in PS, not Bridge that I am able to go into preferences there and under file handling, select "prefer raw for JPEG's". That will be a work around for now.

what happens when you right-click a thumbnail? it should be available there. 4th item down IIRC.

When you figure out how to do that let us know. As far as I am aware, you cannot simply reinstall Adobe Bridge without uninstalling then reinstalling Photoshop.

There is a solution to your problem but unfortunately you have given us very little detail to work with.

have you reset your prefs? hold Option/Alt+Cmd/Ctrl+Shift when you start the app, a dialogue will pop up asking if you want to trash your prefs, hit yes (OK)..

I just checked Bridge CS3 and there is no option in open with to open with camera raw. The option comes up when you right click on the image or if click on File it comes up as a separate option. Maybe you can try to reinstall Camera Raw. Can you open raw files with it?
