Hello all,
I am posting two images that I took this evening, test shots of Shante, a well-known model for a few designers here in New York and in California (and my Honey. :)).

These are my first shots in the glamour setting with her, (without makeup, or wardrobe) and I'd appreciate your critique and comments about any and everything that you think of these shots.

You may go to my Flickr page to see the entire set of chosen test shots, but these are representative of the ten or so shots that we both thought were good.

Details for the shots: both were taken f/7.1 1/100sec @ ISO100, with EF 70-200mm f/2.8L. Lighting came from one Calumet/Elinchrom Genesis 400 with 17" beauty dish and diffuser camera center. My Canon 580 EX II, stand-mounted, provided some fill from camera left at model eye-level, at 1/8 power.

Thanks in advance for your comments and ideas!!!

I'm not found of the crop of the 1st one. If for glam instead of character, I think they lack impact. As a character shot it works, I would just edit slightly more to focus the viewer on what is trying to be told.

these are nice I agree about the crop on number one, and the hotspots on the first stand out for me too.

While the B&W shot is "just" good, I really like the first one. While it is a bit difficult to put my finger on it, I would say that the reasons I like it are dynamic tension created between diagonal lines of the hood and edges of the frame as well as the fram in frame effect created by single color hood.
