Product shots are 75% lighting and 25% angle/composition, in my opinion. Those remind me of my older product shots before I got off-camera lighting.

You're better off with only one subject, like the top picture. Two different subjects divide interest.

Since you have a rifle magazine in one picture, I assume you'd appreciate this type of subject:

Spend $25 and make a Light Box, there's a DIY thread. The shots are great IMO but having them down on the carpet isn't the greatest.

Also load the mags up with some TAP's or Greentips!!

Welcome to the forum. As stated above it's all about lighting. Second most important is presentation. Make sure to watch the lint and dust on the knife.
