Not technically a macro. This was shot with my Sigma 100-300/4 from about 3 metres. Still enough detail at that distance to crop to a nice size like this :D Top lit by a rather lucky patch of sunlight which has penetrated the wings enough to light them up nicely.

LOL That didn't even occur to me!

This is actually two frames. One where the front wing and head were in focus, The other with the back wing in focus. I tried a stack in CombineZ but it got all screwed up because of a slight rotation, then when I rotated it complained about different frame sizes.... bah, all too hard! So I just added the rear wing as a second layer in PSP. Hopefully it isn't too noticeable. I think I did a pretty good job though (better than what I got out of CombineZ on this occasion anyway)
