I've used batteries from a source on ebay that have failed after 1 year. Others, from what I've read, have had luck with them. From what I understand, some non-oem batteries lack circuitry in them to prevent overheating and other possible issues.
Presently, I'm using low cost replacement cells from sterlingtek and they seem to be working out fine so far.

I've had good luck with batterybarn.com. Made 3 or 4 purchases now and all are still working. The first one I bought is 3 years old now and still kickin. Unless you know the ebay seller you're not absolutely sure of what you're getting and the prices at batterybarn.com are as low as what you'll get on ebay.

I got some from SterlingTek too. One was DOA, so it went back and was replaced with no problems. Others I know have had similar dealings. I know a few who wen tthe BatteryBarn route too with no issues. I'd check both and go with your gut feeling.
My gut feelings about most things eBay are diminishing as time goes on......
