Tripod feet

What happens when you lose one? I mean, really, tripod feet . . .
I duck-taped it up so it didn't clog full of sand, but that's no real fix. It's a manfrotto 055PROB, so are all the lower-leg diameters the same for half-decent tripods?

Also, are there special attachments you can add to stop the legs sinking into sand? I was thinking of making something myself, using gangnails or something flat but with grip.

Manfrotto sells replacements. And you can either buy "snowshoes" for your tripod or make your own. I use plastic pet food can covers for mine.
