Canon PL-L Polarizing Filter - Circular?

I'm currently selling all my old canon 35mm equipment and accessories on eBay. This includes a Canon 52mm PL-L Polarizing Filter for which I have no additional information. Can anyone tell me if this is circular or linear? I suspect from the PL-L designation that it is linear.

I'd suspect the same, although since Canon's manuals for the FTb and F-1 saids they required circular polarizers for metering to function properly I don't see why Canon would have made a linear polarizer. I'd also suspect that, like other Canon filters, it's lousy.
