No 5D for next two months

Called canon service center for calibration of some of my equipment. Started talking to this guy at Virginia for a while. Very nice guy. He told me there we no 5D replacement to be announced for the next two months, but the new 5d will have as everyone guessed a 3 inch lcd, live view, 14 bit processing, dust shaker, and he stated 5fps. I dont know how high up he is (he said he has been working for canon for 3 years, and I did not ask him what the source of his information is. I also did not ask him for any further detail, as I thought it would be bad form.

Same with me, I have a new body in budget for the fall when the summer weddings is shot and charged, so a Photokina launch would be perfect.

I'm still hoping but honestly, if it were true we would have started hearing solid rumors from someone, but nothing is going on, it's too quiet!

A gentleman on the paid member pro section of a wedding forum said that his Canon rep told him April 22 would see an updated 5D announcement. I tend to believe the poster was told something along those lines (given the forum - it's generally not a place where folks make things up), but who knows the context or if the original information was accurate.

My 'source' says that the new 5D was supposed to be announced September last year but this was put back because the new model was experiencing the same problems with the mirror and AF as the 1DmkIII. He added that the new model will be announced on the 22nd April and will be available after the current cash-back offer ends in June. True? Who knows - but he was spot on with the announcement date for the 40D so lets hope he's right about this one!
