At least, that's what I think it is.

He was a zoomer, so the first shot was with just the 100mm. The second shot was one of the few exposures I was able to get with the 100mm+50mm (reversed) before he started digging at my finger with his little pincers.

Me either. All of my relatives know to keep an eye out for interesting creatures when they visit, and my mother found that one. It's really helped teach the kids to appreciate nature more by looking, rather than smooshing. I've got a strict no-smoosh policy. As such, they like to use my little butterfly net to catch the bugs that make it inside to move them outside :D

very nice. im a non-smooosh type also, i also like to avoid any confrontation with my subjects, so when i they run off, i try not to provoke them. there is a different respect that you have when shooting insects and spiders, that is acquired with time i think.
