my girlfriends uncle and aunt want me to photograph their daughters baptism in the church..... for those of you who are of some sort of hispanic culture know that baptisms are some what of a "BIG DEAL". so anyways i have a rebel xt, the kit lens ( 18-55 ), the nifty fifty, and a tamron 70-200mm. but i don't have the external flash. would i be able to pull off the photo shoot with what i got now? advise really needed, and tips if you guys have them. this would be my first post on this website.....
thanx in advance.

Most churches have dull but even light.Use a high ISO. Don't hesitate to go up to 800. Shoot raw and make sure you don't underexpose anything - if at all overexpose a tad. Although I'm not sure how the Rebel xt handles noise. (there's some good free noise software out there.) All lenses could be used, but if I had to choose one I'd go the 18-55.
For the best eg of shooting in a church without using flash see this site. He has posted here before.

Probally not going to have enough light w/o a flash, but your 50 is going to be your best bet. You may get a keeper or two w/o a flash, but a flash is going to boost your keeper rate WAY up.
In your situation it may be worth looking into a flash rental.

+1 on the flash - it would be 100x more versitile than the pop-up flash in your situation. The ability to bounce the light will give you more keepers.
