? on Nikon speedlights,Cactus triggers, and Sigma 500 DG Super

I bought the Cactus trigger to use my Sigma 500 DG Super off camera. Well, the other day I picked up an old Nikon speedlight SB-E at the pawn shop for $15. It works with the trigger but how do I make it work with the Sigma? Do I have to use the trigger on the Nikon and put the Sigma in slave mode, or do I need to get another trigger?

I believe the sigma has a built in optical trigger. Use the trigger on the nikon and the optical trigger will fire the sigma.
