First bee-fly captures I've managed this year - they are still very nervous. In the last shot a male is doing a territorial hover over a bush - they chase away anything that gets close to them (apart from presumably a female).

what a interesting fly, looks bloody hard to get close, i hate flies like that when you have tubes on a 60mm feels like you get no where. Brilliant shots

These aren't too bad normally once they have calmed down a bit after a few days - you can very close to them.

Lovely shots Brian. Thats good news then that they are appearing, will keep my eyes and ears peeled over the weekend (hopefully the weather isnt going to be cr*p again).
