Hi Ladies & Gents.
I have had a request for the use of one of my shots in a magazine article.
I am happy for the shot to be used without compensation as long as I am credited but I think that I should include a limited use contract that restricts the use to that article only without my explicit permission. The journalist who has asked writes for many publications in his field.
Am I going overboard here? Should I allow open use?
I do portrait work for paying customers along with weddings but I would not say I am a name in the local industry. I definitely am not a name in the industry that the shot is specific to (but would like to have a presence).
I am located in Australia so would like advice from all but especially Aussies who are published.
Thanks in advance
Wardie
(BTW: Yes I have searched the forums but did not find something specific)
