I have just noticed my manual says CompactFlash 1 for storage.

I have ordered San Disc 512 Ultra II. Have I made a big mistake. (again).

If its OK to use, is the card any good or can you suggest another type.

Compact Flash Type 1 refers to physical dimensions. A type 1 CF is 3.3 mm thick; a type 2 CF is 5 mm. thick.

The Sandisk Ultra II is a Type 1 CF, but their second-generation Ultra (high speed) CF. It's probably overkill as your camera won't generally be able to take full advantage of the speedier writes, but it'll work perfectly well, and when you upgrade to a newer, faster camera, this card will be able to keep up.
