Mid-Ulster Football (soccer)

Lurgan Town v Ballymacash Rangers (seconds game).
Rangers showed up with 10 men so they were on a loser from the off :eek:
Ended up 9-1 (I think lol) to Town.
Varying light led to me changing ISO a lot and playing havoc with the white shirts. Managed to bag a few decent shots though.

Some great shots Steve, nice and sharp, and ball frozen, one of the things that I like to see.

Sharp pictures, movement stopped, but they don't really have any atmosphere. In this respect the background doesn't help at all.

Backgrounds are hard at this level of football. Usually trees and no stands full of people lol. You gotta start somewhere though ;)

1 and 5 are the stand-out ones for me because as has been stated before, these are all a bit 'same-y'. 1 and 5 are better (to me) because the facial expressions say a bit more about the action and make the photos tell a bit more of a story.

Good shots though. I find myself shooting amateur soccer in England and suffering from the same 'compositionally sound, but lacking a certain something' shots as you.

I'd echo the cry for a few pointers on how to make soccer photos just that bit more impactful, especially at the amateur level.
