can I use my old battery 511( of my former camera G2) to the new G6..?
I know there is a new one model B (or something) but I noticed it s working... will be no problem in future..?

No you wont encounter and problems the only difference is the supplied G6 battery is of a higher capacity. I use a BP-511 clone made by Uniross as my spare and it works a treat, over 300 shots with full TFT and flash use.

welcome to the forum
yes, the battery will be fine
that's what I made sure of before I bought the supershot pro1 camera
(which I haven't had a chance to delve into yet)
I already had two batteries for the G2 so made sure all batteries would do both cameras
and am delighted they suit
now I have three
(batteries)
good luck, and very best of enjoyment with your new camera

Older 511's are just lower capacity, completely interchangeable with newer models, i.e. G6, 20D, etc.
They now come with a higer amp battery, which means they hold more charge but function exactly the same.
Cheers,

Interestingly enough, I have the 20D and when I bought the Battery Grip for it I was surprised to see that you can even mix and match the 511 and 511A in the grip! (which has two battery slots in it.) At least Canon has made this standard and flexible, vs. changing everything with every release.

It is only like mixing different capacity rechargable AA's
