Anyone use this guy?
I am debating between it and the Canon MR-14ex Ring Light and curious if anyone has used them both?
The Sigma is a good $150 cheaper and seems to be very similar.

I only have the Sigma, but I really like it!
It gives you amazing lighting control, and the price is unbeatable. I only got to use it for 2 days before everything froze over and my macro ended for months :(. However, I really like the shots I got with it.
These were taken with the Sigma EM-140, a 20D, and the MP-E macro lens:

Like I said, I only got to use it twice, so I'm not very good with it yet, but I really do love what it can do. I used a normal flash on a bracket in the past, and I prefer the Sigma to it by far. I personally prefer even lighting in a macro shot, and it's really easy to create the shadows you want with diffusers and such. The control you get over the light output is really impressive.

I'm also interested to find out what the best value ring flash is. The above shots are really nice BTW!

Ya, I did a ton of searching and found little info, and even less comparing it to the canon MR-14ex. I know the MT-24ex is much more usable with the ability to change the light source location, but it is much much more expensive.
In looking at the Canon MR-14ex and the Sigma EM-140, feature and usage wise they seem identical. I even compared the manuals and all the features seem to be almost identical.
Only difference I seem to find is that the canon uses curved flash bulbs where the sigma uses two straight bulbs...I dunno if that makes a big difference or not though as I cannot find any comparison shots :(

Doesn't the MR-14 allow you to fire other EX flashes wireless in e-ttl mode? If so does the Sigma offer the same capability?

Good question...has anyone tried this with the Sigma?

The Sigma Ringlight can fire other sigma flashes that are slaves, and from what I have read it seems that the Sigma flashes will work with the Canon system for the most part just fine.
