Hey all!
I just got my new computer, so I downloaded the Lightroom 1.4.1 Trial\demo... After trying to put pictures in lightroom, it wouldn''t work!
The gray box would appear, but no thumbnail, I click it, and it says loading large preview, but it takes forever so I just exit!
On my older, MUCH SLOWER computer, Lightroom 2 beta would import photos flawlessly! Is this user error?

Just tried Lightroom Beta 2, SAME PROBLEM!
WOuld this have something to do with the way I copied my photos over to my new computer???
I put them on my nas\external HD from my old comp, then copied them over to this comp...
They worked fine on my old computer, but why not now?

Sounds like a graphics card issue to me.
What graphics card are you running? Check you've got the latest drivers, and if it's an nVidea, turn off the nVidea software.

It is the ATi 1050x, I am running the latest drivers, my dad just set it all up a few days ago...

Hmmm, ok, grey boxes is usually graphics card, but there's a few other things to try.
1. Have you tried different files?
2. How are you importing? Can you see the thumbnails once they're imported?
3. Google it and see if there are any reports of problems with the same graphics card - I'd do it but I haven't got time right now!
4. Check your monitor profile - it could be corrupted.
5. Drop by the Lightroom Forum in my signature - someone else may have seen the same problem.

1. Yes
2. I am dragging them from the file, and dropping into lightroom (worked on my old comp)
3. Will do
4. Not sure what you mean by this
