Hello folks,
Some of you are calling this girl a "confident young lady". These shots are not that confident and she was in a different mood, but she is my favorite "model" :-)
Let me know what you think

Hi Alex,

Caught another great pose/moment. A few points:
- her face is quite dark suggesting flash fill might have helped,
- (related to this) her forehead is the largest bright area on her face, which inevitably makes it too prominent a point of focus
- background is busy, with saturated colours over all, producing quite a bold but harsh affect... a smaller depth of field might also have helped
- her hands are also over-bright

If I were you, I'd consider burning/dimming/desaturating the background to bring the emphasis onto the "young lady", darkening her hands, and brightening her face....

Cheers, Tony

Thanks, Tony.
I know that my biggest problem to date is LIGHT. I caught up pretty fast with how to use my DSLR, but light is something that takes a lot of time to understand for me.

Here is another trial, which is not ideal, but I like the shot.

Hi Alex,

As you say, there are lighting issues and various issues here too, but I also like the composition. You've got her eyes closer to - if still a little below - the "Rule of Thirds" position, there's a suggestion of the diagonal, and best of all the colours make a good contrast with the bark. Shooting from a smidge higher so the sky was blocked out might have helped, but the building might not be a thing of beauty - again you seem to have captured quite a large depth of field.

Cheers, Tony
