I have recently purchsed the Canon IXUSv and so far it has turned out to be a really great camera. However I have been experiencing a multitude of problems with the use of the provided software. When I first installed the ZoomBrowser Software it worked for about 2 weeks and then refused to load (I am using a Windows 2000 machine). I thought that if I uninstalled it (using Add\Remove programs) and then re-installed it then it would work again. That is what I did, as per the manual. The uninstal was, to say the least, sloppy and there was some residue but this should not have been a problem. When I tried to re-install the software it failed with an error 112 message (problems decompressing the installation files). I have quite a bit of experience with computers, and the solution to this problem is not at all obvious. If someone has dealt with it in the past then a little help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi tEMPus,

I had problems too with ZoomBrowser but from day 1! It just kept freezing on me and then shutting down.

I'm using windows XP though and when i plug my ixus v2 in it just detects it and automatically downloads my pics. Does windows 2000 do the same thing? Also i am using ACDSee to view my pics.

So till this day i'm not using any canon software cos the silly thing just refuses to work!
