Hello, friendlies.. I just had a question about composition on the following photo. I'm aware about the rule of thirds and how not to stick your horizon line right in the middle of the shot, but I took it in a rush and figured I would crop later. Now, I'm not sure where to crop it in order to emphasize the curving branch on the left, which was my focal point. I also realize that this a terrible, non-sharp, P&S camera capture, but it's a composition exercise to me.

- The apex of the curve seems to intersect a 'thirds' line, but
- the horizon (snow) is right at the half-line.

Where would I go from here?

Problems with compostion:

1) Uninteresting or undefined subject matter. No one would be able to tell what the subject is in this image. What were you trying to photograph?
2) Too much sky, sky is too bright, and the blue does not look right.
3) Branches in the sky that are not anchored and trunk of tree is missing. Should include the trunk of the tree and the branches in the sky should be excluded.
4) Stump or pole within branches of fallen tree is distracting.
