i was at a prom yesterday and a few of my friends wanted to get a picture with me. i had another member of this site take the picture and then i edited it in photoshop. what i'd like to do though is the strap from my camera bag is showing and i was hoping that somebody here would be able to help me out in removing it. also any C&C on what i did with the picture already is greatly welcome.

You've got CS3, clone it out on the pixel level.

Having no idea what the design on your shirt was behind the strap, I liked the prospect of a challenge. So... here's what I did. Only took about 15 minutes. Mostly duplicated other usable portions and stole from elsewhere where I could, minor cloning to blend in.

i've gotta say that for 15 minutes of work that you did an excellent job at removing my camera bag strap. i'm trying to do it right now to see if i can manage but the only real trouble i'm having is blending it and making it look smooth on the girl in blue's arm.

I really do not like the SC...crop the original, clone out the strap.done!

Nor do I. Why did they lose all the colour in their faces?;)
Go back into CS, and lower the Saturation and raise the Vibrance. This will make the faces look less red/orange, but will bring up all the other colours.
I suspect you've removed the colour from the skin because everyone looks like they've been in the sun too long. Too much Saturation, not enough Vibrance.
