Bought my s30 several months ago, and I'm still working on my composition skills. Here's one of my favorites. Let me know what you think!

Diagonals make images dynamic. They lead the eye. Often to the subject. You have one that runs from the bottom left to the top right. But it leads us off the page -- after we have paused for a few seconds to view the beautiful, larger blue and ping flowers.
Put a sheet of paper along the diagonal than runs from the bottom left to top right. When I do that I see something reaching for fame in the bottom half ... and something receding from fame in the top half.
CHALLENGE:

If you could return to photograph these flowers tomorrow. What would you do to spread the fame throughout the image ? Would you isolate 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or more blooms ? Would you settle for just one bloom ? What is the beauty that you want to share with me? How can you set that up ? Lead my eyes ? Would a strong ray of sunlight help to carry my view ?
Also, look to the composition rules at the Kodak link that Don Ellis posted a few days ago.

Thanks Howie. Your tips are great! I can't photograph the flower again tomorrow, cause it's all the way back in San Francisco, but I know what you mean.
Do you think i could fix the problem by chopping off the top 1/5th or so and maybe shave off the left side till there's no more dirt? As always your comments are much appreciated.
